kmod software package provides tools for managing Linux kernel modules, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kmod
kmod is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kmod package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kmod *
You will get with kmod package name, version, architecture and description in a table
